I am a former advertising copywriter-turned marketing communications guy who sometimes writes fiction and poetry. I like to think that my work is mostly okay, sometimes quite good, and from time to time even horrible. I don’t think it’s ever going to be world-changing, but that’s really beside the point.
I started this site as kind of a moon shot. In a sea of scripted content, AI-generated stories, and paid hack jobs, maybe one blog site full of silly little nothings won’t make much of a difference. But if just one or two people read a poem or story here instead of doomscrolling, I’ll take it. Thanks in advance for reading these brain farts; you’re welcome I saved you from yourself.
Honestly, I write because I started writing silly limericks in the fourth grade and never really stopped. If the one self-published e-book, this site, and a handful of notebooks are all my writing ever amount to, I’ll chalk that up as a win.
I don’t think being good at things is the point of doing them. I think you’ve got all these wonderful experiences with different skills, and that all teaches you things and makes you an interesting person, no matter how well you do them.
